Ok, got the fire lit. It should stay burning till late March, mid April.  The smell of fire will be back on my jacket :).  As I was lighting up, it started to sleet.   So winter has started in my book :P

« on: February 10, 2014, 05:50:44 PM »
I think my pump is a B&G nrf22.   It is 3-4 years old and is now squealing, not loud, but it is there.   I am gonna get a new pump ordered but how long do you think the old one will hang on?

I'm curious how often everybody tops off their water.   I do it every 3-4 days. Seems to take a couple of gallons.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Does burning bark = more creosote?
« on: January 24, 2012, 05:23:16 PM »
I,m slowly developing a pile of tree bark that has fallen off of my split pieces of wood.   I want to burn the stuff up to get rid of it.   So what do ya think; add alittle with each load of wood into the owb, or stuff it all in there at once?

I just would like to hear how things are working out for other owners.  I don't think there are many of us.  :)So far, so good for me.   The temp is set at 165 on, 175 off for the damper.   Fire box is filled about 2/3s full twice a day with  the the current temps we're having.  Mid teens at nite, low twenties, upper teens during the day.   Milder temps I have got well over a day, almost 2,  on a full, stuffed fire box fill.  My home is a new 2500 sq footer.   And 20 plate dhw .

Does anyone own a timberwolf outdoor furnace co boiler made in muskegon, mi - not hersey,mi.  They look interesting and I hear the welds are pretty good.  They also are spray foam insulated.  Love to hear some feedback.

Thanks!
