Hope everyone is having a great summer, national guard has me leaving for up to 6 months so far looks like I will be gone for the winter, my unit is connected directly to my boiler so I am thinking I will have to add some shut offs and pipe to make a loop so I can run the pump in the boiler while having it closed from my boiler but should I be heating it somehow so it does not freeze? My pipe run is about 100' and some spots it might only be 12" deep.

« on: March 22, 2014, 11:22:25 AM »
Anyone ever have this issue? The boiler will not fire up the display flashes LO which means low water but the gauge says it is full I added some water to see it that would fix it no luck, just filled it until it over flowed still says LO.  :bash:

Central Boiler / E1400 air cylonoide hose
« on: February 04, 2014, 07:24:08 PM »
Lately it seems like it is taking longer for my temp to recover so it has me cleaning and tinkering,  hopefully someone with a e1400 can confirm which of the 2 little hoses on the top air valve go where? Or does it matter? One of the clear hoses is longer then the other, i am just wondering if I crossed them at some point. Thx

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / In floor radiant heat
« on: September 03, 2013, 11:45:00 AM »
Well here is a project I have been talking about and working on (I took down the insulation last year) but I am gonna get it done, I want to put taint heat under my kitchen floor which is tile, I would like to use some kind of tempature regulating cable anyone using one for this already? The valves I found online seem to have a large diameter, I thought I would use a smaller pec so I would not have to drill big holes in my joist.

Plumbing / Radiant heat piping
« on: February 06, 2013, 01:17:53 PM »
It is time for Project #owf17, time to get ride of the freezing floor tiles, I am installing radiant heat under the flooring from the basement, hopefully removed the insulation was the worst part, I was thinking I could just come off the supply manifold with some kind of thermostatic valve that would keep the floor at a certain temp, then have the other end of the line feed into my return manifold I was gonna stick with the one pump outside which I will be changing from a 007, the local plumbing shop did not have the valve is there another name for it?  Does my setup seem ok?

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Run pump selection
« on: February 02, 2013, 09:43:55 AM »
I have mentionedy temps before and got lots of good feedback, so today I measured my run I could not find any info on how to select a pump, I have a Taco 007 my run is 112' with (3) 90 angles and (1) 45 on both the return and the feed so the total is (6) 90 and (2) 45, 14 feet of that is in the house which is plain 1" pex with neoprene pipe insulation, the run outside is the 1" CB insulated pex, I am going to try and buy a meter today to confirm my temps but my outdoor boiler is at 188, my indoor unit is at 170 and the return outside is at 155-160, there is a section of CB pipe that is only 1' deep for about 4' now that I have a backhoe I am gonna dig it up this summer and put it deeper I could probably get rid of a 90 that way to.

I have a CB1400 my piping is about 70-80 feet with 3 90 degree elbows on each line, these feed into my oil boiler un pressurized ( no plate exchanger) the gauge on my indoor boiler never goes over 170, when I ran it on oil it would go over 200, do I need to burry my pipe deeper I used the CB insulted pex most of it is around 2-3 feet deep with I few spots only 8" deep, or could it be I need a bigger pump I am using a taco 007

13
I have the insulated pex pipe from Central Boiler,  i basicall made a whole it the cement foundation ran the CB pipe and electric conduit and sealer it with hydro cement I never had a issue last year but it started leaking today ( we got a ton of rain last night) I am thinking I am gonna have to dig a up the outside of the house were it comes it and try and put more hydro cement on it.

Central Boiler / How to check solinoids
« on: December 20, 2012, 02:54:52 PM »
What is the best way to check the solinoids? My unit has not gone into high burn the wood I put in there this morning was hissing, but it has a chamber temp of 320 and been running all day, I though I read somewhere there was something you could do on the control panel to make the solinoids fire up? When I turn the owe off and on only 1 opens
