Suprise
« on: January 07, 2017, 04:37:05 PM »

I wish I could get paid as much as the weather people to be wrong most of the time. Yesterday : Dusting to 1" of snow by morning. 5" on the ground when I got up , no big deal. Today: Coastal winter storm 3-6" during the daytime , 1-3" at night. Just went out to fill the boiler and the snow is over my knees! :o wow that was a little off and still snowing pretty hard.

And they don't even admit they were very wrong.

The last snowstorm we got (if you want to call it that) they said to expect 12" to 18", we got 5" if we were lucky.  You gotta love them.  Last week one of them said it's going to be brutally cold, temps in the 20's; that isn't cold, that's typical January temps in northern New England!  Roger

Ended up at 15" guess I'll have to plow the driveway this time. Plugged the loader in this morning so maybe it will start. Weather people either get everybody all wound up and it's nothing or they say it's going to be nothing and you get a disaster. Be nice if they could get it right once in a while. When I was working on fishing boats some of the old timers who had been around there for ever could look at the sky and the water and the barometer and predict the weather spot on 95% of the time.
