Hey friends,
My temp was having trouble getting passed 140 this morning despite a good fire going in the firebox. I noticed my fan was louder than normal as it was on trying to kick up the heat. Is there a way to clean the fan or inside the blower? I'm wondering if that's the problem. I took out the whole pan to clean out extra ash down there, but it's still louder than normal. Thanks for words of wisdom!

Do you ever oil it? Depending on which fan you have there should be ports so you can oil them. When they start to make noise is when there on there way out. Found that out first hand last winter and was stuck without one for a few days. Do yourself a favor and order one asap and keep it on hand as a backup!

Do those fans have a damper that might be stuck closed not allowing the air to pass through? If they do and its not opening that would cause the fan to sound different and not allow your fire to burn like it should.

They act like that when they need oil.

If someone owns a heatmaster, can you tell me what oil and how much and how to do this? Thank you!

I've been told our fans don't need oiled. If you are under a year, contact your dealer and see if you can get a new fan. I think the fan is warrantied for 1 year.

WD 40 works. I think the sealed bearings are a thing of the last few years. If it's a little older there should be a little oil hole somewhere.

Nope, called my dealer, he said he's never heard of needing to put oil but he said can't hurt it. Haven't had a chance to see if it works
