Title: Getting Started for the Season
Post by: BenGrove on October 12, 2015, 09:53:47 AM
Does anyone have any tips and suggestions to follow when firing back up my furnace for the season?
I've got the MF3000 Heatmaster.

I fired mine up on Sunday..Basically what I do.. Make sure the pump and fan turns on before any fire..Look for leaks as the water is moving..Once the fire is going and set at your desired temp..I just recheck everything..

I turn pumps on for 24hrs prior then check for leaks at all joints. Then i check the fans and water level to make sure everything is at proper levels and everything is working good. then i fire up! I start with a small fire and raise the water temp slowly. Once water temp is to desired temp i continue to check for leaks and make sure all the rest of the plumbing is working correctly. I then keep an eye on it as it cycles a few times and make sure all my line temps are in line with what the temp gauge on the boiler is reading. I may tweak the aquastat a bit if needed to get desired line temps.
