Digging Trench from Furnace to House

So I'm planning on install my new furnace by myself, but have a question.  When I dig the trench, two feet deep, do I dig so the piping can go under my foundation to my house? I just wasn't sure if that would hurt the houses foundation.

It shouldn't be a problem.  Just make sure you tamp the dirt back in real good after you run the pipe through.

It settles  :P

Also remember to back fill with as much sand as possible, it means less sharp rocks by pipes :thumbup:

Tamping in sand should be ok as long as the area is small and not under a main loading point (next to window headers or something).  If you really want to be sure, use flowable grout (concrete).

If you can core thru the foundation wall it might be better.  How deep are your footings?
