Title: Above ground pool
Post by: Bull on August 16, 2011, 08:04:58 PM
Just wondering, if I were to put pex in the sand under my pool lining (like doing a garage floor) would this be a more efficient way of heating the pool?

i think you would be far better off putting insulation under your pool. sand under your pool is still drawing heat from your pool and putting the pex in the sand would just allow even more heat to be swallowed up by mother earth faster.

The method I saw (for a garage or basement) was insulation then a layer of sand with mesh then the pex was tied to that and then a little more sand and then covered by concrete. I am thinking that if I do this minus the concrete and put the pool over it, may be a better way to keep the pool open a little longer.
