Title: Thermostatic Mixing Valve

I am planning to put a 30 plate exchanger in after my hot water tank and turn my tank off in the winter. That way I can have on demand hot water. I also plan to put in a thermostatic mixing valve for safety. I have been looking at these valves and they are priced all over the place. My questions are :  How much should I be paying for one and what temperature range I want it to be rated at? Is 120 degrees enough or should I buy one that goes to 140? Thanks Tony

i have heard (so i am not 100 percent sure) that if you have an automatic cish washer they recomend 140 for that..if you don't have one of these then i would say...what ever temp you are happy with

I would get one that can be adjusted up to at least 130 or 140.
What is your water heater set at now? Probably higher than 120.

The one installed on mine is a honeywell goes up to 130 degrees

I also have a Honywell that has a adjustable range of 90-130 degrees.  So far, I have not had it cranked up all the way and have been getting a little bit of fluctuations in temp at the faucets-espesially shower- not making wife very happy. Also, on a side note, the pressure doesn't seem to be as high as it was before the whole OWB install including this valve, I'm not saying the valve is the problem, but has anyone else had is problem?
