Title: Leaking OWB, HELP
Post by: cabledawg24 on October 18, 2011, 06:04:18 PM
Ok I'm new here and this is my situation.
4 years ago my dad bought a OWB and we installed it, Its worked great ever since.
My dad passed away in January and thus left me to deal with it.
Last winter is developed a  small leak and  had to be topped off every 2 weeks or so.
At the end of the season I tried to see where it was to no avail.
Mom is going to Fl in a few weeks but I had to start it back up.
She called me tonight saying there were 5 in of water in the bottom of the box.
Any ideas how to get this fixed?? Is there some sort of stop leak you can add to the water to help seal it??

You will most likely need to get it patched or at least welded.  What brand is it and what kind of metal is it made of?

Its a Hoover pump works, made of steel, not stainless, its leaking from the Flue area.
Thet  said cut a hole in the side of it but I'm not skilled enough to do that so it will get emptied out and she will have to figure out how to get her furnace going again.
