Title: heating a hot tub?
Post by: Scratch on November 19, 2011, 04:47:27 PM
Anybody heating their hot tub with their OWB?  Wondering what type of heat exchagers are out there.

You need to use a stainless steel shell in tube heat exchanger. (about $250)
The chemicals in the water will eat copper. I have heard of some people using flat plate heat exchangers but I would not because they will clog much easier and they are brazed together. (chemicals will not get along with the brazing)

I use one of these to heat my pool.  Works great.  You will need a 3-way valve too.  I assume you can tap into its thermostat to control the valve.
