I am a little north of Madison.
Crossfire, the reason I thought you might be in Wisconsin was because you said you got an old model NC. There was a company near here that had a huge inventory of the 2008 models and was selling them below cost.
Did you get a newer model with the water jacket around the chimney?
-
Rsi,
I bought the one with the fire jacket around the chimney and round fire box

Great...another Wisconsinite!! Tinner, I'm located in Greenleaf, WI. A little cow-burb between Appleton and Green Bay. I have a Shaver 250 that I have been fighting with, but I "think" the battle will be coming to an end somewhat by this evening.
Welcome to the site..."lots of knowledge on here!"

Yes sir...I got the motor yesterday afternoon...WOOTWOOT!!! I "had planned" on going out to the furnace today and remove the old motor and reinstall the new, but Scott inquired as to whether they had also included a gasket that would go between the motor and furnace flange. I had told him no, they hadn't. He said a customer of his installed a new blower onto a furnace and didn't put n that gasket and he had leakage issues...well HE didn't, the furnace did.
So now This coupled with the fact that the existing furnace flange is NOT perpendicular to the rear of the furnace (just a slight infraction) and that the flange bolts are cheap and crappy and are NOT centered has set me back a couple days. I can't do anything about the un-squareness of the flange, but I can take care of the bolts and regarding the not on center bolts coming through the flange...I will just slot the holes in the new motor flange and that will take care of that little problem Can we say "lack of Quality Control?
So later on today, I will take a ride and get some Fire Rope for the gasket material between the motor and furnace flange. Tomorrow hopefully the rain will let up a little...all muddy out behind the OWB now. I WILL have that new blower with damper on before tomorrow evening!

Lugnut,
Thanks for the welcome. I have been reading about your nightmare. I hope the new gasket, blower and damper solve your issues. I am just starting in the design stage. I currently heat with a multi fuel furnace. (corn ) because the way corn prices have gone through the roof I am burning straight wood pellets this year. Cheaper than corn or l.p. but not by a lot.

That is a nice stove. Much better than the older model.
