Title: Another Heatmor 200 question
Post by: Daped01 on December 28, 2011, 09:08:33 AM
Locally a person is selling a used HM200 for $1700.  I have a 1500 square foot doublewide mobile home.  In the future I want to build a 2 car garage/shop and also heat this off the boiler (boiler lines run through the slab.)  Is this a good unit for this application?  or is it going to be too much?

It shouldn't be too much for your doublewide.  My house is 1700 sq ft and I'm using a 200.  My house is old and leaky, and I suspect your doublewide isn't super well insulated either.  If you find that the 200 has too much water capacity and doesn't fire often enough to keep the fire going, you can always "dump" some of the heat by opening a window, heating the great outdoors with a radiator or so, etc.

I doubt it will be too much for just the doublewide.  It will be about the perfect size for the house and garage too.  The price isn't bad either if it's in good shape and it works properly.

Thanks!  They said the reason they are selling it is because they bought a bigger one.
