Anybody know what the manufacturer and model number of the controller they use in the CB classics?
-
Well, thinking my controller was allowing the boiler to overshoot I bought a new one several weeks ago from my CB dealer. Turns out the controller wasn't defective, it was just a matter of the outdoor temps being too warm for my setting. Once the daily temp got below 40 I have had no problem. So now I have a spare. I can tell you that it is made by Love Controls in Michigan City, IN. Model# is TS2-110R. www.lovecontrols.com (http://www.lovecontrols.com)

Do you have to buy the probe assembly too? Or is the controller a plug in style.
OH and Thanks for responding!!

oops. I might of found the wrong one. I saw this one:

Did a search for yours and it could not be found.

Probe came with it, but it does just plug in.
This model is specific for CB, though I think it is just because the bezel says Central Boiler.
-
So this is the right one?

Looking at TS2-010F* (TS2-011 is C*)
I just can't find the TS2-110R
-
They probably use special numbers for CB.

Did you see they are under $60 with free shipping on ebay?

Yes, I believe that is it. I think I only paid $56 for the one from my CB dealer.

That explains the 110, what does the R stand for?
GM- Is your dealer close? Or did he ship it to you?

My guess is that is a mfg code for custom faceplate for CB. My dealer is about 30 miles away, hence the reason I bought this even though I wasn't sure I would need it.

OK that completes my "Spare parts purchases" This is for two Central Boiler classics (My Sons and mine)
Spare Controller-ebay $59/free shipping
Door Gasket kit-ebay $20/$8 shipping
Grundfos pump-Pex Universe* Keeping TACO 009 as spare. $154/Free shipping
Solenoid-Grainger $29/$10 shipping
I wanted to make sure the Grundfos would work and prior to purchase I emailed Pex Supply:
Your question about: ALPHA 15-55 F Cast Iron Circulator Pump w/ Terminal Box has been answered.
On 01/02/2012 you asked the following question at PexSupply.com
"Will this pump be equivalent to a TACO 009-F5?"
PexSupply Staff from NY said:
"Not really: the Taco 009 has higher head pressure capabilities, but lower flow ratings. You need a circulator that can handle both the flow rate and head pressure of your system."
I'm going to try the Alpha anyway. I have enough temperature data to determine if the pump is working or not. If not, I'll let you know in case someone else wants to buy it.
Now-Why the spare parts? We all know how long it can take to get these parts when you really need them. I just took the search and wait out of repairing the Green Dragon.
-
I think the Alpha will work fine. It might even move more water than the 009 did. You probably won't be able to use the auto setting though.
-
I was talking to MTJAG yesterday and I think your right RSI. He seemed to get improved performance when in manual in Stage II.
Question- I don't know where i read it, but a good flow rate is about a 15-20* across a heat exchanger? (when exchanger is in use?)
-
Pump arrived today. Going to install Saturday.
Waiting for my kill a watt meter.
-
I received the rest of my "spare parts" today. So I should be good in case of pump, controller, solenoid or door gasket failure.
If you missed it over on the CB forum the Grundfos was installed this morning.
Oh and the CB Controller is a LOVE controller. TS2-110R
