How much did your OWB cost?
I don't have a OWB but am considering a Heatmor OWB, have not yet to talk to a sales man so have no clue what the big numbers are, any info is appreciated.

$125,000. It came with the house we're buying. :D

$9,400 got me a CB 5036, 65' of pex insulated, all the copper for the DHW and the heat exchanger. It also came with a cement slab laid down under the delivered stove. Pump and all hardware also, with all of the labor done by myself.
I have heated each of the first three years with eight cords of hardwood, accurately measured. Not including my labor, the stove will pay itself back in 2015. It is easy to not count the labor as cutting the wood is so much fun!

How many square feet are you heating, and how do you like your Portage and Main?

I am heating about 2000sqft of poorly insulated circa 1860s farm house. I like the unit so far will burn anything I put it, have only had it since Sep. Freatures that lead me to portage and main were the forced draft, ash pan, and heat exchanger. I have to do some additional insulation work on the house however as I burned close to six cords even in this mild winter.

I am a Heat Master Dealer and the current prices start at $6,600 for furnace, parts and labor and they go up from there depending on what model they buy. Normally I can install a furnace for under $8,500 to almost any home. Heat Master and Heatmore are both built out of 409ss so hopefully this is a good set of numbers to compare to.

Their is a dealer in Brown City, Michigan. I'am going to check them out.
