Does anyone no if there are any specs in Mich. how far the wood boiler has to be from the house Mine is about 50' .

If you are referring to your own house, that may vary from insurance company to insurance company.  The distance from a neighbor's house may vary from township to township.... depending on whether or not your township has adopted any "rules to this game".  I'm sure you were implying 50' from your house.

I asked cooper township, MI and they did not have any restrictions.  I did call the propane company and they recommended 20 feet from the propane tank.  You may want to consider the chimney height before you place it too close.
