What are the advantages? I'm kinda torn on what to do?! put it under roof or not?

Hey Scott- here's something to consider. I realize you're talking about just a roof, or at best a small pole barn for your furnace. If you enclose it too well, even though the carbon monoxide (CO) will be shooting up your stack, you'll still have a lot of oxygen being sucked from a small space into your furnace. It won't take long to create an oxygen deficient atmosphere. I realize this is absolute worst case scenario, but it never hurts to mention stuff like that. Your typical farm shed should be of no concern, I'd think.

Yeah, the whole front will be open, I'm thinking maybe 24 wide 14 deep or something, maybe 30 wide! That way keep the boiler under roof and the wood!

i totally think it is a great idea...wood is dry..stove is protected from the harshest weather..and so are you

Yeah I've been thinking about doing this too come this summer. Same kinda size, 3 sides, just like what you're thinking. I'll probably just wait till you build yours then come over to your place in the middle of the night some time and drive off with it. Don't worry... I'll stoke the stove before I leave.
