I am going to heat my 30 x 50 insulated shop with my H4, is there any reason this won't work if I mount it in a used electric furnace?

I gutted an old gas furnace and put a heat exchanger in it, wired the blower to an electric base board thermostat and heat my 30 by 60 insulated garage.

Where did you get your heat exchanger? There are some on ebay that are not too bad.
How well does it heat your shop? Mine is 30 x 50 and well insulated. 12' sidewalls.
I heated my old shop with a indoor Victor wood furnace, I could get it heated to 85 degrees in about 20 minutes on a 20 degree day, but the smoke and ashes were hard to deal with and my wife said I always smelled like I was on fire.
I gave it to my son in law, he doesn't spend as much time in the shop as I door and he needs fast heat.

If you try it, let us know how it works out. Car radiators are made for much higher flow rate and might not get real good circulation through the entire radiator. If all the water goes through one end of it you might not get enough heat off it.

I keep my garage at 50 and have turned it up to 70 but that is to warm for me when I am working. I got my heat ex. from ebay, there is a link on here somewhere.

Here is what I ended up with in my shop. I am not completely done, hence the hanging thermostat wires, level, ladder etc.
