I need to have a boiler that is EPA approved with my township rules. Does this mean for the boiler to be EPA approved that it will have to be a gassification boiler? Also if so can some one give me some incite to some good ones to use? Thanks

Here is the list of Phase II outdoor furnaces. Be careful for some manufactures who claim to be approved but actually are not. Shaver is one that has had some issues with this in the past. If the name is not on the list they are not approved.

I have a central boiler 1400 so far so good

I see that Wood doctor made the list.

Central Boiler has 4 different sizes of EPA Phase 2 furnaces on the list and have been producing them for the most years. I love my 2 year old Eclassic 2400 model. Burns clean and is very stingy on wood. At the fair I saw they have made even more changes and upgrades on their newest E2400 and E1450 models. Yes they are gasifiers. Mine burns extremely clean and is very stingy on wood.
The Wood Doctor model Bull saw on the list is one of several models that are no longer in production and/or that company is no longer in business. EPA just doesn't seem to pull them off the list.

WD made a lot of lists in the last year, not all (or any) in a good way. It's government, did you really expext them to be on top of updating their list? Meetings to set up committees and sub committees, inquiries, 30 days to respond, post on an official website in the bottom corner, legislative approval of the wording, vacations for legislature, etc. We'll all be dead by the time they even realize WD is out of business. And that will start the process all over to confirm it.

Why is Wood Doctor the most (its seems) brought up brand???....You know what, dont buy it!!! Simple as that!. I see the wood doctor out there (old style)..Must work for those people.. To me if I was looking to buy a OWB.. The #1 epa phase 2 brand right now is Central Boiler for wood.. Mainly due to advertisement power..
