Do you have one. If so was it your first outdoor boiler. When we are talking obout wood dryness, if your burning dead ash would you have to season it more?

Once you start running a quality gasser you likely won't look back.  Wood use is basically half.  Several members here have optimizer 250 and love them

I have the Optimizer 250 - got it last year and its my first OWB so I have nothing to compare it to.  BUT, I love it so far.  Takes about 20-25 minutes to clean and during the heart of burning season I clean it every Sunday.  My wood last year was seasoned but not dry to its fullest potential.  It is my understanding, the drier the wood, the less often you have to clean it.  But its nothing to clean it and if it does burn half the wood as a conventional model as everyone says, there is less time and less grunt work required.

You guys should order some pro former for your gassers, a teaspoon of it per day creates a coating on your firebox walls and tubes and make cleaning even less of an issue
