Title: Pipe insulation
Post by: yotehunter66 on September 30, 2012, 05:38:58 PM
Any value to putting the foam pipe insulation around the pex inside the house? I have about a fifty foot run where it enters my basement till it gets to my plate exchanger. It is a full heated basement.

Thermal conductvity of pex is fairly low and your heating the basement anyways.  But if you are using it in the summer months to heat domestic hot water, well...foam insulation is pretty cheap.
