Title: Line voltage thermostat with 24v relay
Post by: Jebug83 on November 12, 2012, 05:54:52 PM
I have a heat exchanger in my garage that is controlled by a 120v line thermostat and i want to be able to use it as the heat dump if the water in my wood burner gets too hot. The problem is the wood burner sends in a 24v signal when it needs to dump heat. My question is do they make a line thermostat that also has a 24v relay built into it and if not is there any other way that i can hook it up?

What does the 120v thermostat control, a fan or something?  If its a fan you could possiblly wire a 24v relay in parallel with the thermostat.  Not sure about thermostats.

Just get a 24v relay and wire it in parallel with the line voltage relay.

That had crossed my mind but figured I would ask and see what ways other people thought would be the best way of doing it. Thank-you.
