Post by: pwdiver on November 15, 2012, 03:30:54 AM
Ive been on the central boiler web site trying to find the 3/8 door latch bolt that hold's the latch handle, I broke mine yesterday while cleaning the boiler out. Does anyone know where I can find a new one or a part number. Ill probably have to call central boiler. Thanks for any info  :-[

Hello PW,

Call me a rebel, but I would not at all be concerned over OEM hardware. I would procure and install a galvanized (not zinc coated) hex bolt with a flat washer under the head so as to give a greater surface area against the handle. Personally, I would get a long enough bolt to put a nut on the far side of the tapped hole through the door to act as a stop nut. Ideally a split lock washer would go between the nut and door but the taper in the cast door negates that.

Best wishes!

J
