I have about a week's worth of ashtrol left, was wondering how many people keep using ashtrol after first container is gone.
-
WHAT IS IT???
-
ASHTROL is suppost to help with Creisote build up, should be applied in firebox once a day per Central boiler manual.
-
Ashtrol is lime dust/chalk dust that helps break down the acid/ph produced while burning wet wood. It keeps the acid in the ashes from attacking the iron in the stove. It is very important to move/scrape ashes and coals daily. I use lime/chalk from my work and also make sure i scrape cb daily.

I've never used it. I still have the full container my dealer gave me. Granted... this is only my second heating season but my neighbor (brother) has the early version of the 6048 and also has never used it. He's going on season 12 and burns "everything" including his garbage... :bag: He's never had a problem with his stove though.

Looks like it's been over 1 1/2 years since anyone talked about Ashtrol. Any changes on use of this product? My dealer never even mentioned it.

Just cranked up my 5038 with my dealer and he didn't say anything about....
-
.....Ashtrol. Any changes on use of this product?
My unopened container has more dust on it than last year...
