I am new to OWB i just purchasd a used unit and have most everything fgured out except how to plumb into my propane hot water heater. I have searched and there is no direct info as to where to hook it up on hot water heater. I thought you hook it up on the bottom of the tank and then the top where the cold supply is but I am unsure please help!!

That's how mine is done but with 20 plate. Never run out of hot water and water heater is turned off at the breaker.

Do you have a mixing valve on your unit ?

Not sure about Jonesy, but I do not have a mixing valve. I know I will get flack for that from the guys here. I have mine set up after the furnace HX and use the tank as storage. We still can get water above 125 F, so it is imperative we are concious of the temp for shower and sinks.
