This job was done by a friend of mine who is also a dealer, he sent me this pic last year and I use it as reference and I thought I would share with you how it can be done right.  Heating pools is one of the hardest things you can do to a boiler, most aren't installed properly.

Looks like nice work..Def got to have the wood to heat a pool..

Yep he does good work, it's all there, yet it's pretty simple!

Looks nice, but couple questions.  The 3-way valve, can that be exposed to the weather?  I would think the electronics portion would have issues.  Also, I have a similar setup, indoors, and have had trouble with the PVC into the metal.  My 3-way failed and flowed some heat to the exchanger when the pool pump was off.  Nothing "broke", but the PCV adapters must have changed and started leaking pretty badly.  I tries to re-tighten them, but I think they were permanently changed.  Even with tape and pipe sealer they would not seal.  I had to replace them.  I am looking into replacing them with sch80 CPVC now.  I am hoping it will hold up to this if it happens again.  Still working on my system so this cannot happen again.  Not sure why the valve failed.  It was only about 1yr old.

Ranco's are weatherproof, that's the main component and no I've not heard any problems from zone valves being exposed

Nice looking work. The one thing I sometimes add is several drains near the heat exchange just to be sure and get the water out if its not in use and if there is a chance of freezing.
