I think the thing i dont like the most about my shaver is the door size. I am a pretty big guy and have got some big logs up to the stove with no problem only to find out they are just a smig too big or a small knot or y in the wood wont allow them to go in. :bash: Also, Seems like once i get a nice size log in there its hard to get some small stuff around it . Sure wish the door was a few inches bigger. I know a couple guys with central boilers that have huge doors. Anybody else feel the same way ?

How big is the door opening on your shaver?

I have a woodmaster 4400 abnd the door is 24" x 24"
-
my home made is also 24 x 24

Mine is 25x18 inside dim. Jusy rolled about 18" round in for night with a few small pieces on the side. Last few nights have been cold for use in the south. You folks that live up north would probably think this is mild weather though.

The door opening on ours is 21X20 and it has never been a problem getting wood into it for me.I,don't try to put logs in it that are over 20" anyway I would have a hard time getting them up to the door even to try.

Not sure right now how big the door is but i know compared to a CB its tiny . When i get a nice peice in its kind of hard to get some others in around it . I know its not a 24x24 .

I have a Hardy and that is my biggest complaint also. I wish the door size was a bit bigger. I don't know how many times I have had a decent sized round that is just a hair too large to fit in. It always seems to be when there is a roaring fire inside too!

The Legend that I have has a 28x30in. door. I don't think I could lift the piece of wood if it wouldn't fit, and the firebox is 40in. deep. All of the different size Legends have the same size door just the firebox depth is different.

CB5036 door size is 23x 23 and that seems fine.I put 12 " stuff in all the time.Trouble is its just like putting in a 75 pound block of ice.Cools down the boiler for an hour atleast.

not when it has 500 gallon of water surronding it, you can fill it with wood and it doesn't hardly drop any temperature at all.
