Title: Shaker grates warpped
Post by: DaveWertz on January 30, 2013, 11:25:53 PM
Does anybody have any links or anything about changing shaker grates. Mine are warpped and need replaced but since I am burning now I can't really see how they are layed in the stove with all the ash and what not. I can't find a single write up or even a single picture showing how there set in there. Im hoping its as simple as pulling old ones out and flopping new in?

Are they causing any issues?

Well not yet but I would say if they warp any more it looks like they will be touching the bottom of the ash pan lol. I will try to get pics of the grate next to the bottom draft door and show you what I mean since that is the only one i can get a clear pic of. They are pretty bad.

Are you sure that they are shaker grates?  If they are just normal grates just flip them over and they will straighten out.

Yup there the shaker grates. There are I believe 4 of them. The one is so warpped I don't know if it would be worth flipping them. I have two brand new ones but I don't know anybody that had ever changed them nor can I find any write ups on changing them. My manual even says to flip the grates but that is just the regular grates it don't mention anything about shaker grates.
