I am looking at purchasing a wood processor. I will need a compact unit, looking to spend under 15K. I will be using it for myself and family. I have been looking a the Hudson Wolverine and the 800 series Wallenstein. Anyone using one of these?

I've seen videos on the Hudson Badger. Looks really nice. $15k. About $18k with conveyer to fill truck/trailer. I'm not sure what I think about the Wallenstein job. It's a glorified splitter. But it's better than the splitter I have. I'm just not sure if I could stand there with a saw. I'm afraid I'd keep skipping the saw chain off the frame. I'd be spending all my time sharpening. I noticed in the video it didn't seem like their saw was too sharp.

Dyna Products makes a unit that will cut and split up to 14" , it has a live deck , 2 or 4 way split , hydraulic powered saw and the option of a conveyor .
It starts at 10,500 w/ a 13hp Honda , $12,500 for the 20hp Honda and a larger pump , and the optional 8' conveyor is $2500
It is 5' to the outside of the wheels about 16' max length overall .
I personally own and use the SC14 which will cut up to 18"

What do you think of the Dyna. How does it handle crooked logs?
-
Depends on how crooked of a log you are thinking of , but it doesn't do too bad , you may have o stop and twist the log a little sometimes
