Title: Yet another t stat question

Hello all. been reading and thought I knew how to hook up my tsat but its not working so heres the scoop....
old thermostat is a hunter brand ...two wires that go to rudd silhouette 2 gas furnace...no ac .  the wires are connected to terminals R  & W  no other terminals on old t stat.  so I ran a new 4 wire from old t stat to furnace.

I hooked up a jumper from R on old t stat to R on new one Honeywell  RTH 11B  I hooked up the green from the furnace terminal to the W on the new T Stat.....with new tstat off ran a cycle with old t stat and it works fine.

turned old one down all the way and waited  few mins and tried new tstat......nothing......any ideas? thank you in advance. chuck

well while waiting for a reply went back and looked at eveyrthing again...put covers back on and it works....must not have made connection properly with one of the pins when i put it all together first time...chuck
