Title: Best filter?
Post by: mingom on February 25, 2013, 05:20:16 PM
Was looking for some suggestions on a filter for my woodmaster. Currently has none, I have hard water with no softening system, have treated with a-200 liquid.  I was thinking a y strainer or a whole house style filter. Any other tips for keeping the water side of the system functioning would be appreciated

Most filters are not rated for hot water. The ones that are are pretty expensive. I only know of two brands that are and they are getting close to $200.

A Y strainer is a much cheaper option and will collect the larger junk.

You could just use regular cheap water filter in the off season to clean up the water. You would have to either remove it before starting the fire back up or put it on a bypass so you don't ever run hot water through it.
