Title: New pump is loud.
Post by: DaveWertz on February 25, 2013, 08:30:07 PM
I noticed this morning when I got home from work I went into the bedroom and heard what sounded like a pump running. I went downstairs and noticed my brand new Wilo 3 speed pump was the suspect. It was flowing and working no problem. It wasn't making a chattering noise just louder than I thought it would be. Its louder than my taco. Now this pump runs heat upstairs so I understand it is going to be running harder. But my question is, are these always running loud? My girlfriend says she hears it every night when she goes to bed since we been there and its been almost 6mths since we moved in. My gram had the pump installed the week we moved in. Seems to be working fine just got brought to my attention since I finally got to hear it.??? Maybe the small things bother me to much lol

Wilo isn't a pump I'd recommend for anything I depended on for heat, they are prone to some issues..  Maybe it will give you years of good service though, ya never know

They do seem louder to me as well

I replaced one on a Taylor, it was inside.  Lady called when I got home throwing a fit that it wasn't working, I said is your house warm, she said yes.  I was like well it's working.  Even a couple days later she had trouble believing it was working cause she couldn't hear it lol

Thats what I keep hearing about wilo. There not good for heat use. I hate to replace it because it is new. What pump would be good to get for a backup. This runs water upstairs so I imagine I have to get something descent size.

Just depends on what's up there...  Shouldn't take no giant pump

I sell a 3 speed private label with 2 yr warranty for 135 shipped, there quality pumps.

There is a full bath that is used by my girlfriends brother. He rents upstairs from us. And the rest is just baseboard. Is this pump you sell flange type?

What are your payment methods? I would like to get one and hook it up then use the wilo for backup.
