Title: Ground barrier
Post by: freefour on March 19, 2013, 07:04:33 AM
What do you guys use for a ground barrier for your firewood?  Nothing? Junk wood?  tarp?  pallets?  Just getting ideas and seeing what works best.  Thanks.

I have gravel under my pile. The gravel is graded so after the water falls through the stone, it flows away from the pile and into the yard.

I've got some 4' x 8' hardwood pallets.  They usually last about 5 years, then I burn what's left of them and get some more.

I use 4' x 4' hard wood pallets.  Works great and lets the air pass under the wood.
