Title: Burning Opti 250 through summer for DHW
Post by: James on April 09, 2013, 04:03:51 PM
Does anyone keep their 250 running through the summer just to heat their DHW?

For my set up I'd have to leave two pumps running through the heat exchanger so there would be some electricity to pay.  Is it worth it?

Otherwise I have to burn oil all summer.

I dit it for 2 summers  Im not sure if I am going to do it this year.If your wood is free and you use a lot of hot water its worth it.

Here in Ma the EPA says I cannot run it all summer I think I can go until may and start up again in sept, I don't use much hit water so I will run it until I feel like cleaning it for the summer
