Is anybody using 240 volt circ. pumps? I'm in the process of installing my OWB over the summer just curious cause I see most stoves say about using 115 volt. Why not use 240 and use half the amps.

No, me and RSI ran into a situation a while back where a pump was 220, it moved the same amount of water as another pump that was 110, the 110 used like 185 watts and the 220 pump 385... They were oth grundfos

Was both of the pumps the same hp?

There it is.... There are 115 volt pumps that move more water than that and only draw 115 watts

It makes no difference if it uses half the amps unless you are limited by wire size. (won't matter at all on a 1 or 2 amp pump) The wattage is exactly the same and will cost the same to run.
The only reason to use a 240v pump instead of a 120v model is that you can find deals on them sometimes.
I ran a Grundfos 26-64 bronze 240v pump for many years just because I got it like new for $50.
I have a 120v and a 240v outlet by the pump so I can use either.

Yeah I see now that the wattage is the same that there isn't much difference.
