Title: 5036 Draft
Post by: sabercat on May 20, 2013, 07:17:57 AM
I'm currently using the natural draft on the CB5036, was wondering if any of you have went to the fan forced setup, and if you did, do you like it? Thanks

I have and the answer is yes and no.

Pros:
   Burns down, completely no problem.
   Recovers faster
Cons:
Unit mounts on the door so the door doesn't open as far as it used too
It has a small hum(fan sound), so it is a bit louder
   Might lower efficiency?  Dunno.

All in all I am happy with mine.  If you do not need fast recovery time, then I wold not install it.

Thanks, some of my wood, was not as dry as I would like it. My last stove had a fan, and I liked it.

i got one on my 5036 and wired in a switch and across the bottom i drilled 1'' holes to allow natural draft.I use it for stubborn fires.I used it about 5 times this past winter. works great.
