Outdoor Wood Furnace Info

Well my grandmother neglected changing out her shaker grates for some yrs now. They were warped really bad. Anyhow I am in the process of swapping them out now. My issue I ran into is the frame that sits on the two I-beams is warped in the front. There are 5-6 grates that sit in this frame starting from the back of the stove moving to the front. I tried to put the new one in the front today and it was about 1/4" to long (the grate was to long).. I can't explain this the best but from the grate warping so bad it wasnt pushing out on the frame to keep it from bowing in so the front of the frame looks like it rolled up and caved in. The frame is basically angle iron welded together, thats about the best way to describe it. I dont want to buy a new frame as they are $200+ so my question is what is a good method to tryin straighten this frame back out. I tried beating it with a hammer that did nothing but ring my ears.

I woulda perhaps try a small ram hooked to a hydraulic porta power and push it back

I tried with small jack and it seem it would work. The real problem is the one side of the angle is rolled up or pushed out. Best way I can describe it. Do you think putting heat to it and beating the piss out of it would work on something that thick?
