I bought my outdoor stove from my local Ridgewood dealer, Craig Wertz and have spent the spring and summer hooking it up and building a workshop. All summer I've planned on adding a light to the front of my stove and a skirt to seal off the bottom. I called Craig at his shop and he set me up with pieces of the outside metal and a couple of corners for my skirt project. I finished the plumbing and wiring this week and started on the skirt.
I started by adding 2" ridged foam insulation. 2" fills in the space between the stove legs and the outside siding. It fits perfectly. I didn't want the insulation and skirt metal laying on the concrete, so I picked up some pieces of cement expansion joint material made out of rubber. That will keep everything off the cement.

I worked my way around the stove with the insulation.

Making my way around the stove with the insulation actually went real well.

After the insulation was all set, I started on the metal skirting. I removed the corners and the screws along the bottom holding the metal to the side of the stove. I positioned the skirt under the outside and installed the bottom screws and the corners.

I'll tell ya, I'm pretty proud of the way it looks............

I also wanted an outside light on my stove. When I ran power to the stove, I ran a wire to the front of the stove and added a light. It is an LED security light and I used a curved extension to position the light higher and position it forward on the stove front.

Someone has been busy! Looks good. Really changes the look of the unit too.
P.S. I see what you did on the back. Little bit of extra shiny.
-
Now that's a serious light lol
What is it and where'd u get it
-
Wow.. I'm impressed with that skirt. Looks great. Craig will be getting more calls for siding and corners when us fellow Ridgewood owners steal your idea...LOL.. Hey Craig, if you're reading this, do you still have any of that black siding left that you used on mine?

Hey Speed, I told my fiance that I wasn't going to mention the door and see if anyone noticed. You found it. I'm not happy with it yet. My hinge needs to be wider. I'll work on it and report back.
Hey Scott, I bought the light from Menards. It is a Chambery Dualux LED 2HEA. I knew I wanted a LED. It is on right now and it looks like daylight out there.
Hey Chas, Steal away lol. I know if Craig has some black steel, he'll get it to you. He's a great guy.

Was it expensive?

@beeman-gotta keep the boss happy. Thanks for the kudos on the skirt.
@scott - scratch the name of the light. The real name is DUSK TODAWN LED AREA 250 and the Menards sku number is 3565521. The sale price was $139.00. A bit pricey, but LED anything is pricey right now. Cooper Lighting 2621 Lumen Dusk to Dawn Area Light

Yea I sure couldn't find it under the other name lol
Looks good tho

Well, I told golffanman I was going to steal his idea for the skirt on the Ridgewood and here is my version, I changed it up just a bit so I didn't infringe on any copyright laws..LOL. Thanks Bruce for a great idea, I'm disappointed i didn't think of it myself.

Chuck,
That really looks nice. The last time I talked to Craig, he was getting calls for skirt materials. And thanks for the part numbers for the 1/4 turn latches.

Great idea for the magnets on the end of the latches. I am definitely going to look into this.

Nice guys!! Makes a big difference.
When I get mine I will do the same.

Why wouldn't ridgewood just manufacture the stove with a skirt to begin with? I can't stand how the pex and pump are pretty much exposed to the elements.
-
I'm glad they don't make them hit the ground. Just another place for critters to hole up in my opinion. Woodmaster is built the same way. One of the reasons I bought this brand. But, as the OP showed, its easy to skirt one if you desire. One advantage to this design also, is if you don't want concrete, you can set it on blocks.
-
Hey Victor, isn't your Burnrite also built on legs with everything exposed?

Built on legs yes but nothing is exposed it is enclosed in the rear cabinet with metal knockouts for the pex to come into the cabinet.
