Title: welding process

Just wondering what you guys feel is better for mig welding 1/4 mild steel on owb.  Flux core or gas shielded  ??  Thanks

If you are welding inside, gas shield is the way to go.  Clean weld, with less chance for porosity.  Flux wire is great if you are welding outside where the wind will blow the  gas away from the weld area.

depending on the voltage flux will weld heavier gauge steel.  Otherwise gas is good.

arc 7018  got too heavy for my little loader and had to position weld quite a bit of it
