I was making some connections last night using cinch clamps with the appolo tool and it took everything I had to close the jaws of that sucker...it was at eye level so I just had to use pure arm to arm strenghth...nothing to brace against but geez I didnt dream it would be so tuff.1' pex by the way. :-[

Hahaa do about 50 a day, with about half of them in a crawl space laying on your back reaching up to the floor joist lol

You must have arms like popeye.. :o Id have to invest in a power unit.. I thought it would have the leverage of say a pair of bolt cutters for example....chuck

Nope. You're not weak. Those things are a bear to crimp.

Not hard with these! Worth the extra coin or rent them! True ratcheting!

What brand are the clamps you are using? The Oetiker brand (same as what comes in Sharkbite brand packages) are thinner and need a lot less effort to cinch.

I find it is easier if you scream "aaasshhhhbiittchh"

I only had 10 crimps to do so I spent $30 on a "Sioux Chief" block style crimper from Menards. You tighten 2 bolts with a 1/4" impact gun and you're done. It'll do 1/4", 1/2", 3/4" and 1". Might not be great in tight spots but worked great for mine. And you can still scream "aaasshhhhbiittchh" if you want.
