Anyone here have any experiance with one of these? Seen one and thought about buying it but I am a little skeptical. Thoughts?

Dave i'm a bit confused, seen one of what?
-
Huh?? Nearly every stove I sell either comes with or ends up with insulated chimney on it

I was at a local "hardware" store and seen a 4' insulated stack they were selling. I didnt inspect it closely but from what I did see of it, it seems to have 1/2" ish thick walls. Mine stack on my hardy is just a really thin wall plan jane 4' stack. I think they sell similar models at Lowes but I have no idea in the difference in the 2.

your hardy has a thin stack because ur exhaust is at the top and hottest part of the firebox and wont benefit from insulated pipe. ur stack temp is probably 800 - 1200 degrees at times, I know ive seen them around me putting out 18-24" flames

Thats what I was curious about. Glad I didnt buy one and asked first. I really wish someone that have tried the hardy efficiancy plates would post about them. I really want to know if they are worth the money.

I've looked at them, and thought they "may" work, but I don't see it being a big deal
