In New Hampshire - Shaver Pro Series Model 340 - 300+ gallons, 3 zones
I would like to speak with anyone who has replaced the floor pan on there shaver furnace.
Mine is leaking badly. Is the floorpan welded to anything but the legs and sidewalls? Does the end plates of the burn chamber rest on the floor pan or weld to it? If I cut the sidewall just above the wall/floor seam will a flat sheet of steel be able to reweld to new cut along the walls without any bending?
I saw a posting from a guy who just about rebuilt his shaver furnace. All improvement suggestions that provide benefits are welcome. please respond to my posting. I'm tearing it apart now. The factory hasn't responded to repeated phone calls or emails. I did all water tests and treatments.
I added electronic temp control and big fan with damper.
I'm looking to improve;
rusting issues & repairs
Has anyone experience with anode rods like in electric domestic H2O heaters-would it help?
insulation - spray foam , sheet foam or fiberglass
adding a drain plug
Improving return water plumbing
Thanks Jim

Jim, - Welcome to the forum. I do not know anything about the Shaver boilers, I have a Central Boiler. Be patient, someone will eventually pop in and offer you assistance.
I'm in NH too. We a few members on here from NH. Where in NH do you live? I'm in the Upper Vally area, small town about 15 miles So. east of Hanover/Dartmouth College. Roger

When we tore mine apart the burn chamber was not welded to the floor. While you have it apart run your cold water return lines to the front of the stove.
