Title: Spare parts on hand
Post by: Roger2561 on November 16, 2013, 10:26:33 AM

Ever since I had that bolt that corroded away that caused the primary solenoid not open therefore my fire went out, I've been contemplating having a few replacement parts on hand; i.e. solenoids for the primary and secondary elbows, new rope gaskets for the firebox door as well as the bypass door and reaction chamber door, rebuild kit for the Taco 009-F5 pump in the rear of the OWB, etc...  If any one of those items decides to fail, I'll have them on hand to change out.  For giggles I contacted my Central Boiler rep and asked for pricing for a replacement blower motor.  He said it's $230.00.  I guarantee I can find it cheaper somewhere else.  Roger

Yea, there are a few sites that are cheaper than dealer. Allheatsupply, outdoorfurnaceparts, and freeheat4you are a few.

For extra gaskets slimjim from www.mainlycustom.com (http://www.mainlycustom.com) has an awesome silicone covered rope gasket. Way better than normal ones well worth the extra money if you ever have to replace them.
