I don't know how many people watched the news today but Coal City IL. Got hit by tornado today and Washington il leveled many houses. That is no more than 2 miles straight west of my house to dang close thats for sure for my liking. My 20 ft stack and stove and house i watched my stack/bracing hold up for wind speeds 50-60 mph winds they said at my house not sure on the tornado wind speed. I watched the tornado go by with my two little girls scared to death in my arms and wife looking out my crawl space vent you really dont know what to say to give them comfort besides we are going to be okay dont worry we are safe. In one minute your life. Can be flipped over so close to holidays too :-[ and winter to be digging new foundations if needed. I hope I never see one again that close
Please keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers
Thanks Jack

Thanks Matty Im glad they settled down by the time they got to you. You know what's crazy is someone in Coal City found a pair of pants with a check book in the pocket with a Washington address over 80 miles away that was carried for. that is amazing strength of a tornado. They just said on the news it was a EF2 112-135mph. Washington was EF4 200 mph

Jack - I'm glad you and your family are okay. That's too close for comfort. I can't imagine trying to comfort 2 little kids when you're perhaps as scared as they are but you can't show it. We are right now getting heavy rain and some wind but not at the intensity of which you folks experienced. Sending prayers to you, your family and the surrounding community. Stay safe.
