Title: soot in damper door

iam getting a soot build up in my danper door not letting my fan to push open the damper door fully all the time any one have this problem thanks

Sounds like too long of idle time? Not sure. What's your differential set at?

not necessarily, if his differential were bigger the fire "could" keep that clean...   But without seeing how the stove is designed were simply guessing

But if its blowing a flap open, likely its close to the outdoor elements which means its likely gonna be cool there, by being cool all the moisture/creosote will wanna gather there

I believe he's talking about the indoor boiler, cool air should not be the problem, is it soot or creosote?
