made the peak for the roof, stoveis natural draft as you can tell by the main door, I may add a blower in the ash door.

1 1/2" foam insulation front and back 2" of double bubble plus r19 every where else. starting the tin.

drug it over to the house and started the first fire. So far so good 10 days and counting

Thank you, no that shop is my dads. I will be hooking up my 24x40 this week. It is heating my 840 sqft house just fine. lol It should be right around 300 gallons of water.

Looking GOOD :thumbup:; only recommendation and I've said it before, on other posts, not necessarily the best idea to put pump right next to boiler like shown! Just think of the worse weather you can and then having to replace a put. I like to pumps inside a heated structure, so replacement in the middle of winter is a bit easier (without gloves, coat and the snowpile you have to sit in to complete the project).
Also, it looks like you are pulling water (heat) from middle of boiler and returning it to top; might want to think about reversing that! Hottest water will be towards top of tank and by dumping cold water onto the top of the fire box you might be setting yourself up for CONDENSATION on inside of firebox. Just a thought, please remember "I AM NOT AN EXPERT, AND DO NOT CLAIM TO KNOW EVERYTHING"; hell I am not even the smartest person in my house (have a wife)

Lots of debate on pump placement, high or low and on the boiler or in the house. As far as on the boiler or in the house. Remember that the pump can cavitate if you don't supply it with the amount of water that it is able to push through the rest of the system ahead of the pump. If your pushing out 10 gpm then you need to supply it with 10 gpm. If the pump is 100 feet away and only atmospheric pressure at 14 psi is pushing water through a 1 inch pex line then you will be hard pressed to be able to reach that 10 gpm supply because of the friction loss in the supply line.

thank you for the input. As for the water temp I made the immersion well for the aquastat probe is in the middle of the 2 outlets it comes in the top of the tank and is 22" long. I believe the water temp that is actually going to the house should be pretty accurate. as for the pumps I just copied how they were set up on my dads central boiler. the return lines dump on the other side of the fire box not directly on to it. i agree that the hottest water is on top, but my thoughts with the long return pipes on top is the return water will get slightly warmed before it gets dumped in. I made some changes today I added about 7ft of 8" stack hopefully that will add some draft.

finally got my hx hooked up in the barn they dont make them like this any more. it came off of a 50's era hydraulic pump the tanks are 3x3 square steel with 3/8" aluminum tubes and fins 3 row 17x17 1 1/4" npt inlet and outlet 1/5hp fan the darn thing is heavy!

Thank you for the compliments. This is my first major fab project. I have made bumper and brackets for my trucks, but never a project like this. Now I have to get my wood pile built up. I think I have a good pile started then I fill the stove. Lol.
