Hi all, I was just curious, What is the distance between your OWB. and your building or dwelling you are heating? I have a Woodmaster 4400 heavy duty and it is about 90-100 feet from my house and about 20 feet from my barn. Thanks all.

I'm about 6' away from my garage.

My OWB is about 30 feet from the house but the piping runs about 80' underground due to where it enters the foundations into the basement. Roger

My OWB is about 25-30 feet from my house. Glad it's not any further cause digging 30ft of trench was killer...
-
Pointer I have just about the same as you, about 90' because I remember pulling in 2 pieces of 1" pex that were 100 foot pieces I cut a little off and there's a little down in back of the boiler and a bit up into my utility room.
-
10' to garage, underground, then 30' along back wall of heated garage into mechanical room. the 40' into mech room is central boiler wrapped insulated pipe.
-
mine is 106 from boiler to the house then 45 across the basement to my furnace.
-
165 ft. of thermopex. $ouch$. It was the best spot for it to go.
-
well looks like i got the record so far, i had to go 225 ft from the house due to the communist state of ct's regs.
otherwise i wouldnt have been able to install one, it defnitely drove up my costs quite abit. i went with the good insulated pipe and dug the trench myself w/ machine to save money. i was told you only loose less than 1/2 degree every 100 ft.

250 feet

I am 14' away from my house
-
165 feet from the house, 90 feet from the garage.

about ten feet for me it was suposed to be one year just to test for the first winter on winter 3 now getting to like not walking far manly in the morning have bad habet of not wearing shoes
-
I'm 98 feet from my house then another 28 feet in my basement to my oil boiler..
-
35' to house, thru plate exchanger then air exchanger. Then 35' more feet thru basement back outside for another 25' to my shop and then back to boiler. Going thru my basement and using same line to heat my shop saved me digging another 100' ditch plus pipe.
-
45' to the house, 20' inside. 20' to shop, 8' inside.
-
I'm about 130 from the boiler to my hx in the house furnace. 85 feet of that is burried outside. My shop isn't hooked up yet but I have installed the lines and it's about 45 ft from the boiler to the shop.

Garage is 50' & House is 85' from OWB; all S&R pipes are buried below frost line (pretty deep here in East Central MN) -11F this morning, with wind chills bottuming out about -35

Picture from this summer;
Garage in back ground is about 50' run mechanical room to OWB (Garage is jokingly called the "Tah Mahal" because its 48' x 80' with 10' x 16' office = 4000sf & 1000sf unheated bonus room upstairs, with Genie-Lift elevator to 2nd story)
OWB in located next to small out building on middle left of image
House (further along now - about 3500sf total living space and garage) is about 100' mechanical room to OWB

Mine is about 60 feet from house and around 24"-30" deep.
-
250' from my house. My barn will be about 10 feet when I build it.
-
300 feet from inside exchanger.
-
10' from the back of my house and the lean-to of wood is right next to it. Love being able to just walk out the back door in my skivvies and toss some logs in : )
