Hello, we recently moved into a house with a classic 5648. It is about 7 years old and reportedly never had many problems. But I have a few question on the controls to regulate heat to house. It is using an existing radiator system from the early 19 hundreds. Everything outside seems to be working great. It has a heat pump outside and one in the basement. Also some sort of electric valve that is also hooked to the electrical outlet which the indoor heat pump is hooked to. My question is should the heat pump inside run continuously or should something switch it off when the wall temp reaches desired temperature. the house seems to get way warmer then the wall thermostat is set at especially when outside temperatures rise during the day.

Location? Sounds like aqua stats or some settings need a look. Got a CB dealer in the area?

We are near susanville ca. North of Reno 85 miles. I am hoping to find enough info to do some diagnostics.

Is there a heat exchanger between the outdoor pump loop and the indoor pump loop?

Got any pics of the problem area??

Check the thermostat wires to see if maybe they are shorting out or defective thermostat calling for heat constantly, the thermostat is just a temp sensative switch that makes on a call for heat so a short or sticking TT will always call for heat.
