Title: Portage and Main
Post by: ijon on January 10, 2014, 09:36:31 AM
After a lot of research on outdoor wood boilers I pulled the trigger on a Portage and Main  bl 28-40 boiler. I bought it direct from Brian at Portage and Main. Nice informative person. I like the design of the boiler. No bottom to rust out. Hotter fire with fire brick. With the epa going crazy and having a twenty year boiler I think it was about time. Thanks Slimjim for your help. Updates coming.

Congratulations on your recent purchase.  I do not have a P&M, I have a Central Boiler.  From all of the comments on this forum, you can't go wrong.  Roger

Welcome to the BL family ijon. I fired mine up in early Dec and so far all is great with the 28-40. This is my first year with an OWB and have nothing else to compare it to but you can let us know how it compares to your previous boiler once you get it hooked up.
