Title: Water around the flu
Post by: buildingastove on January 29, 2014, 03:35:02 AM
Was looking at some things on the nc 175 and I liked the water around the flu does it work good? And does it have any problems?

Seems like a good idea.  I have friends with 175 and 250.  No problems yet on their stoves.  175 is 4 years old and 250 was new this year.

There is a recent NC video on the NC 325 on youtube and the narrator states that the return water goes right into that water jacket around chimney for best circulation.

Nice Art,

24/7 all year? or 6 months/year?  either way, good track record there.  BTW, what is a 5/8 ton dodge? :thumbup:

@racnruss

Thats 24/7/365...heat DHW in the summer. I did have to replace the Chinese circ pump 2 years in. Now has a Taco 011 on it; should be good for another 10 years.

1/2 ton Dodge 1500 with helper springs. I wanted a 3/4 ton but this truck fell in my lap for $500 - READY TO DRIVE!  :thumbup:

Yeah Art,

Just put a Taco 011 pump on mine also.  First pump lasted 2.5 winters but I only run oct-apr.  Posted a vid of new pump on gt-220 thread.

Years ago we had a 1/2 ton Ram Charger (like a Blazer) that we put 3/4 ton axles and springs under.  Rode like crap after that but didn't squat.
