Title: post EPA wood boilers
Post by: johnmn on February 12, 2014, 03:46:28 PM
I currently have a wood boiler. 2001 Aqua-Therm looking to heat attached garage with bonus room so I need a larger boiler. I would like to buy one this year to get a non gasser just wondering what you dealers think ( scott and slim ) who will be around still after the EPA crack down? Thanks

Thats a hard question and none us truly know the answer.  I think portage and main, empyre, Heatmaster, and central should be able to hang until 2020 at least.  Afte that, the question is the same only bigger.....

Johnmn, I think either boiler will be around as both are on the cutting edge and that's what it takes, as you probably have already figured out I do have that one company that I personally do not like because of their tactics, I of course would like to see you land on our B-L series as a conventional but you and you alone are the one to make that decision, I will say that Scott , Yoder and myself are here for the long run and both of our brands are built with off the shelf components, whichever way you go, we will all be there to support your wood burning quest.

Yea that's one thing I like about the BL 2840 is the off the shelf parts. I know a guy that has a optimizer hes had it a few years now and really likes it.

Why not just get a bigger Aqua-Therm?..Nobody really knows whats gone happen..Burning wood is the backbone since the existence of humans..Too much power the EPA has.. Ridiculous

no they never will..That would be like outlawing guns and then going to your house looking for the guns..

Matty thats not a cool comparison because they very well may come looking for our guns too soon and most of our children don't have the brains to understand what it means.

They wont go door to door, that would take to much man power.  they will just fight it at the source, the manufacturers, there they will offer the states grants and other incentives to help police a federal law.

The big scare is attack on personal freedoms and the downright shame of the matter.  To think you can own land, own trees, but cant burn them to heat your home makes my blood boil

The 2020 regulations will be to the point it will be nearly impossible to afford a *new* Wood burning appliance

Forcing people from energy independence onto the system of depending on someone else

Shewww....  What happened to this land????

Well if the going gets tough down there close to those NITWITS, we can always use some LIBERTY minded folks up here in the socialist state of Maine to even up the odds a bit, I've got lots of room.

I don't agree whole heartedly

Although the greed of money is huge....

There is something out there far more powerful than money...    it's been discussed on here many times, some people actually think oil companies or gas companies know we exsist, but in reality we are not even a blip on the radar compared to the other 300 millions folks.

When you have more money than you can spend, what is left?

When all that money doesn't fix your itch? What's left is power, the power to be able to tell someone else how to live there lives.

The push for this stuff comes from the richest elite who use the power of the epa to push idealistic views.

Are you all aware this stuff isn't even going through the normal channels of govt??  No, it's a back door operation

I can't speak for what other companies will be out there after 2020 but I feel fairly confident in Heat Master. Right now we have a furnace that is a fraction of a percent of making the 2020 standard, no reason to believe they can't get it improved by that small amount in 6 years. Some of the companies that barely made the phase II level, those are the ones that may have some trouble.

Here's a little something to think about. The green movement itself, which wood smoke emissions is only a small part of, was created by the international bankers. They are holding the paper on every country on the planet. They created the whole thing to protect their collateral. The only thing in America that has any value is our natural rescources (air coal water gas oil timber ect. ect. They own it, and will not have us using or (destroying their collateral) The land and its natural rescoures is what they will repocess. Real estate, our homes, have very little value as far as they are concerned. However, they have a couple BIG problems that are being worked on at present, the constitution, and we are armed.

We gotta turn this country around, if it's still possible.

I spent my time fighting those regs in our state capital 6 years ago, I'll help any way I can but it's your turn to fight now guys, I'm still working on paying down the debt that that fight cost me and it got me nowhere.

I don't know how state laws are in your are of the country are but in New Mexico and in Colorado both, though you have ownership to your land free an clear title in hand to both ranches. Don't pay your county taxes for 3 years straight and see what happens to what you thought you owned!!!!!!  Now they will pass these new regs from the EPA. They will out law  anything that produces smoke. They  belive they know what's best for us.   SOCIALISM!     BASTARDS!!!

Now guys, all those job killing regs from the EPA are just to try to curb um global warming. Anybody that spent this winter in North America can tell you that global warming has gotten so bad that we set record cold temps because of the polar vortex that is a result of global warming.

Um, yah and my *ss sh*ts apple butter.

There is no global warming, just follow the money thats made off the myth.

Well now folks, up here in Canada they have revised the term to " Climate Change" because the "warming" hasn't happened. Whatever!
The environ-MENTAL-ists that are pushing these ideas are the ones profiting without a doubt. By the way, how long has the term "Polar Vortex" been around? I'm in my early 40's living in Ontario where we get what I call "cold snaps" but never heard of a polar vortex until this year? Is it an old term or a new one to go with the "climate change"?

Yea but we allowed our govt to steal our taxpayer dollars to fund much of this research, what does that make us?

yea here in northern Minnesota they said we more than tripled the average for mornings below zero coldest day here was 37 below. I said its a good thing there in " GLOBEL WARMING " or it would have been really cold! Plus propane made it up to 5.49 a gallon its on its way back down but its still 3.49
